It’s a cliché but I’m passionate about kitchen design. It’s a love affair that has spanned 18 years in the luxury end of the German kitchen industry…

You’re in creative and experienced hands

It started with a BA Honours Degree in Furniture and Product Design, several years working in the family construction business, and 13 years at the country’s premier German Kitchen retailer in Manchester.

I now get to direct all my passion into Somax Kitchens, which I set up when my wife Catherine and I had our second child and I wanted to be based near home in the Ribble Valley.

Coming up with the perfect company name can be a head scratcher, but being a sentimental sort, ours derives from the names of our two children…

We only offer luxury German kitchen furniture by Rational. Having worked as a kitchen designer at the very top end of the german furniture market, I know good quality but I also know value for money. Rational offers both.

When we say come to our showroom to browse at your leisure – we really mean it

In 2012 we opened our stunning new showroom, based within the popular Shackletons Home and Garden Centre, just outside the picturesque market town of Clitheroe in the Ribble Valley.

Our showroom features three room-sized kitchen displays, which you can look round feeling really relaxed, without the fear of being pounced on by an over-zealous sales person.

It’s only fair to warn you, the coffee and cake at the Pavilion Cafe next door is severely tempting.
