Frequently asked questions

When you start to think about having a new kitchen, you will have lots of questions. To help you, we have compiled the questions we get asked on a regular basis.

If you are unable to find the answer you are looking for, please do get in touch and we’ll be happy to help.

Is your design service free of charge?

Yes it is.

Kitchen designers are about the only design profession who don’t charge for their services.

Historically, you could call into MFI and get a basic kitchen plan knocked up while you were in the store. However, these days, kitchen design is highly skilled profession and creating a kitchen design for our customers takes a lot of time.

Roughly, most kitchens take us 4-5 days. This includes designing, refining, preparing plans, visuals and quotations ready for presentation to you.

Although we don’t charge, there is a significant cost to us and we therefore ask for a well-considered brief and budget from you before we proceed.

What can I expect from a home design visit?

An initial design consultation and measure at your home can take up to an hour to an hour and half.

Firstly we’ll sit down and discuss your requirements, in terms of how you use, or intend to use your new kitchen.

we get a very personalised brief to help us design your dream kitchen. We’ll look at options for a very basic layout, discuss if  you need any seating, what appliances you are looking for, options for any physical changes to the room, such as moving doors, windows or removing walls, and any special requirements for children or pets etc.

We’ll take in depth measurements of your room. From this we can then prepare a kitchen design.

What can I expect from our design presentation?

Your kitchen design presentation will be at our Clitheroe showroom.

We pride ourselves on a relaxed but professional approach, with strictly no high pressure sales!

We will have spent a considerable amount of time perfecting your design, preparing a kitchen plan, full colour photorealistic visuals and a quotation.

We aim to blow you away with the quality of our service and expertise.

Do you only supply and fit the kitchen?

No, we have a very good working relationship with many other trades, from builders, electricians, plumbers, decorators and flooring specialist.

If you need more work doing in addition to your kitchen installation, we can arrange this for you.

What type of installation service do you offer?

We can provide what is known as a dry fit, where we fit the kitchen into a fully prepared room, where you remove the existing kitchen, prepare the room, so any plastering, electrical alterations, decorating, new flooring etc and we fit the kitchen, worktops and appliances in place.

You will need to instruct your electrician and plumber to connect up the services to the new kitchen.

Do you do supply only?

Very occasionally is the short answer and only if someone can demonstrate they are a time served kitchen fitter or joiner.

You are buying a premium product which needs to be fitted properly. It’s our responsibility to make sure the installation does the product justice and a poorly fitted kitchen will not last as it should.

All of our kitchen fitters have many years of experience as apprentices and then kitchen fitters and this is so important.

Do you only supply Neff kitchen appliances?

We are a Neff 5 Star MasterPartner®, something we are proud of and have worked hard to achieve.

This means that no one else in the country can buy Neff appliances at our prices which is why we’ll never be beaten on price.

We can supply other makes of appliances, not a problem, but pound for pound Neff offers the best value.
